Privacy Policy — VideoDownloader

Effective date and last updated: September 25, 2026

1. Introduction

1.1 Who we are

The VideoDownloader app ("the app") is developed and published by devkevpe ("we", "us"). For any privacy question, you can contact us at devkevpe@gmail.com.

1.2 Scope of this policy

This policy explains what information the app handles, why, who it is shared with, and what rights you have. It applies only to the VideoDownloader app for Android. It does not apply to websites you visit with the built-in browser, which are governed by their own policies.

To make clear what happens to each kind of data, this policy separates three areas:

1.3 Effective date

This version is effective as of September 25, 2026. If we change it, we will update the date above (see section 14).

2. Information we handle

2.1 What we do not ask for

2.2 Data stored on your device

This information is stored locally and we do not send it to our servers:

2.3 Data we process

2.4 Data received by the websites you visit

When you use the built-in browser, your device connects directly to the sites you open, just as in any other browser. Those sites receive your IP address, their own cookies, and information about the pages you request, and handle it under their own privacy policies. We do not receive or control that information.

Video detection on web pages happens on your device.

2.5 Data collected by other third parties

Some third-party services built into the app (advertising, payments, and integrity) may collect information independently, as described in section 5.

3. App permissions and how they are used

3.1 Internet and network state

Required to load websites, download videos, show ads, verify subscriptions, and check for a connection before starting a download.

3.2 Video access

On Android 13 and later, the app may ask for access to your videos (or only to the ones you select) so they can be shown in the video-cutting section. Videos are processed on the device, and we do not upload them to our servers. Saving to the gallery requires no permission on Android 10 and later.

3.3 Notifications

Used to show download and recording progress, and playback controls.

3.4 Foreground services and keeping the device awake

Allow downloads, recordings, and playback to continue while the app is in the background or the screen is off.

3.5 Casting to other devices (Google Cast)

If you choose to send a video to a TV or another compatible device, the app looks for devices on your local network and sends the video's address (URL) to the device you pick. That device then downloads the video directly from the original site. This only happens when you start it.

You can review or revoke permissions at any time in Android settings.

4. How we use information

4.1 To provide the app's features

Browsing, detecting videos on pages, downloading, recording live streams, cutting, and playing. This processing happens on your device.

4.2 To verify subscriptions and prevent fraud

We use the purchase token and the integrity verdict only to confirm with Google that the subscription is valid and that the purchase comes from a legitimate copy of the app.

4.3 To show advertising

Users without a subscription see ads from Google AdMob (see sections 5 and 6).

4.4 To keep websites working

The configuration file lets us adjust how the app works on specific websites without releasing an update.

4.5 To maintain and protect the service

Our servers' technical logs are used only to diagnose errors, keep the service running, and protect it against abuse.

5. Third-party services

The app includes the following services. Each one handles data under its own privacy policy:

5.1 Google AdMob and User Messaging Platform (UMP)

Shows ads and manages your consent. It may collect the device's advertising ID, IP address (and the approximate location derived from it), device information, and ad-interaction data.

More information: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites

5.2 Google Play Billing

Processes purchases and subscriptions. We never receive your card or payment method details.

Google's policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy

5.3 Google Play Integrity

Checks that the app and the device are genuine, to prevent purchase fraud. Google may process device and app information to produce that verdict.

5.4 Cloudflare

Hosts our verification and configuration servers. As part of that service, it processes the technical connection data described in section 2.3 and may keep, for a limited time, technical logs containing the IP address, date and time, request metadata, and error messages.

Policy: https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/

5.5 Google Cast

Lets you stream videos to compatible devices on your local network (see section 3.5).

5.6 Websites you visit

These are independent third parties (for example, social networks or video platforms). See section 2.4.

6. Advertising and consent

6.1 Personalized and non-personalized ads

Depending on your region and your choices, ads may be personalized (based on your interests) or non-personalized (based only on context).

6.2 Consent in the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland

If you are in these regions, the app shows a Google consent form before using data for personalized advertising, in line with the GDPR and equivalent laws.

6.3 How to change or withdraw consent

At any time, from Home menu → Privacy options.

6.4 Advertising ID

You can reset or delete your advertising ID in Android settings (Settings → Privacy → Ads, depending on the device).

7. Subscriptions and payments

7.1 Who processes payments

All payments are processed by Google Play. We have no access to your bank or card details.

7.2 What we verify

Only the purchase token and integrity verdict described in section 2.3, to check your subscription status.

7.3 Cancellation and management

You can cancel or manage your subscription in Google Play: Play Store → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.

8. Storage and security

8.1 Where your videos are stored

We do not upload your videos to our servers. A video only leaves your device when you choose: if you share it with another app (which will handle it under its own policy) or cast it to a compatible device (section 3.5).

8.2 Communication security

Communications with our servers and with Google services use encrypted connections (HTTPS). This protects data while in transit.

8.3 Retention

8.4 How to delete your data

Videos published to the Movies folder are not deleted when you uninstall the app.

8.5 Android backups

If Google backup is turned on for your device, Android may include app data (such as bookmarks and preferences) in your personal backup, according to your Google account settings. We have no access to those backups.

9. Sharing and disclosure

9.1 We do not sell your data

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We share data only with the providers listed in section 5, and only for the purposes described.

9.2 Legal requirements

We may disclose information if required by law, a court order, or a competent authority. In practice we hold very little data, since most of it stays on your device.

10. Your rights

10.1 What rights you have

Depending on the applicable law, you may have the right to access, correct, cancel or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict its processing, to request its portability, and to withdraw your consent at any time.

10.2 Applicable law

As a controller based in Peru, we process data in accordance with Law No. 29733, the Personal Data Protection Law, and its regulation approved by Supreme Decree No. 016-2024-JUS. Depending on where you live, other laws may also apply, such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in the European Union, the CCPA/CPRA in California, or the LGPD in Brazil.

10.3 How to exercise them

If you believe we have not handled your request properly, you can file a complaint with Peru's National Authority for Personal Data Protection (Ministry of Justice and Human Rights) or with the data protection authority in your country.

11. Children's privacy

The app is not directed to children under the minimum age that applies in their jurisdiction (for example, 13 in many countries, 14 in Peru, and up to 16 in some EEA countries). We do not seek to intentionally collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, you can contact us and we will delete it.

12. Responsible use and third-party content

The app is a tool. You are responsible for downloading or recording only content you own, have permission to save, or are legally allowed to save. Please respect copyright and each website's terms of service. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by any of the websites accessible through the app.

13. International data transfers

The providers we use (Google and Cloudflare) may process data on servers outside your country, including the United States. These transfers are carried out under the mechanisms and safeguards that apply according to each provider's policies and the applicable law.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the app, its providers, or the law changes. The current version will always be available in the app, with its last-updated date. If the changes are significant, we will let you know in the app.
